'Out With The Old' Booms A Tthing Of The Past
Caljan Rite-Hite, leading manufacturer of advanced material handling systems for loading and unloading cargo is offering customers the opportunity to have their telescopic boom conveyors refurbished rather than replaced.
With 150 new boom conveyors sold every year at around £20k each, Caljan, renowned for its safe and effective solutions is now offering refurbishment of existing machines as an alternative, and at almost half the cost.
Since replacement is only necessary where the steel structure has become twisted or stressed, the logical solution in many cases is to refurbish the booms.
Refurbishment includes new bearings, belts, motors and electrics and ensures that the new electrical control system and wiring meet today’s stringent standards. They are also given complete paint respray in Caljan’s facility in Bingham, Nottinghamshire. The end result is a virtually new product that is as reliable as a new model. To support this all units are available with a 12 months parts and labour warranty.
Mike Hilton, Managing Director of Caljan Rite-Hite commented, “replacing a telescopic boom conveyor is an expensive task which is not always necessary. Committed to providing solutions to our customer’s handling and carrying problems, we believe that offering refurbishment of booms will be beneficial to the market and secure our name as the largest supplier of boom conveyors to the parcel industry in Europe.”
With 80% of the parcel handling market and 20% of the retail market using boom conveyors for loading and unloading cargo, Caljan’s new refurbishment offer should prove popular with customers, particularly as the quality of its refurbishment is higher than that of the few other material handling companies which provide a similar service.
