Arca Systems, the leading European supplier of plastic containers, has launches two new Euro containers. Both will work within the Euro and ISO pallet systems and two sizes of the Euro box are being produced. It is believed that one-piece Euro boxes of this size are unique to Arca Systems.
Available in 800x400x200mm and 1000x400x214mm sizes, the Euro containers will be used primarily to ship components within the automotive industry. Individual lids are available to protect the contents of the containers from damage and tampering.
Produced using by an injection moulding process, the containers have excellent strength and durability. This process also gives them very good dimensional stability, an important issue if lids are to be used or when stacking full containers.
The containers also feature ergonomically designed hand-grips. These promote ease of handling, and mean that the container is far easier to manoeuvre than older steel and wood containers, which, according to the HSE, are a cause of many occupational injuries.
The boxes are already being used by the automotive industry, as Tim Ansell, Managing Director of Arca Systems explains: “The new containers have been welcomed by companies in the automotive industry. The PAG Group, Honda and Nissan, amongst others, are using the Euro Long Box to transport parts to their assembly plants and throughout their dealer networks.”
The boxes’ innovative design has enabled Arca Systems to mould the Odette label holder into the box and, uniquely, it can also house a credit card size RFID tags. The RFID tag means extensive information about the box contents can be stored to provide excellent traceability throughout the supply chain and reduce loss and damage.
These robust, ergonomically-designed containers are produced from virgin polypropylene and will work within Euro and ISO pallet dimensions. Designed for many years of service, both are recyclable at the end of their useful life.
