Arca Systems At The Height Of Entertainment
"Arca Systems has revolutionised our way of working!" These are the words of Mark Essl, Logistics Manager at Video Networks, who chose ArcaMAGNUM® boxes as the ideal transportation container for the electronic components and cables used by the company's engineers.
The ArcaMAGNUM containers were the natural choice for the company, a leading provider of entertainment through its interactive TV, video-on-demand and broadband services, marketed under the brand name HomeChoice. The new boxes have enabled them to reduce costs and improve efficiencies by changing the way the company works.
Mark Essl explains: "A lot of time and resources were being wasted in transit and the picking process. Arca Systems' boxes mean that we can now equip each of our engineers with a complete week's supply of products so repeat visits to the warehouse are avoided and our picking system is more productive."
Made of 100% Polypropylene, using Arca Systems' unique manufacturing processes, the 800x600mm ArcaMAGNUM containers are exceptionally strong. Weighing over 18 kilos each, they are easy to manoeuvre into the engineer's van as each has a full four-way entry pallet base for fork-lift access.
To make Video Network's picking system even easier, the containers feature integral label holders on all four sides allowing each box to be bar-coded with the identity of each individual engineer.
"I really can't praise them enough for their convenience" Mark Essl continues. "The use of roll cages is no longer required during the loading process so they are also far better from a health and safety point of view, and because the lids are sealed with security tape they are extremely secure".
The maximisation of the space in the company's vans was particularly important to Video Networks who were also impressed that the ArcaMAGNUM boxes they chose had fold out doors on all four sides. This ensured easy access from either the rear or side of the van so that the engineers could operate using their own, individual working methods. When the containers are empty they can be folded flat and move out of the engineer's way.
