In June 1998 a little known plastic moulding company; Perstorp Plastic Systems, bought itself out of the Perstorp chemical and materials group and around eighteen months later changed its name to Arca Systems.
February 2005 saw the merger of Arca Systems with Dutch company, Schoeller Wavin Systems.
Schoeller Arca Systems, as it is now known, is the world's largest manufacturer of plastic returnable packaging for the materials handling industry. Schoeller Arca Systems UK is based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
